Longtime Road Band Focuses On Rocking the Carolinas Matthews, NC – SugarSmax, a female fronted four piece that spent years rocking clubs, college campuses, casinos, festivals, corporate functions from Key West to North Dakota, has settled down to rock the Carolinas. SugarSmax began its existence in 2003 and immediately began touring. Band members were road tested, playing hundreds of dates each year, gaining experience and perfecting their craft. Alabama, Florida Keys, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia - just throw a dart at the map. Chances are SugarSmax once played there. But the road takes its toll. After spending close to four long years in hotels and on the highways, SugarSmax traded the tour bus for a more stable existence and a home in the Charlotte region. Now the focus is clear - become the best party band the Carolinas have ever seen. Starting life as an 80’s tribute band - hence the 80’s themed name - SugarSmax keeps the best of those songs from the “Me” decade, while adding a sprinkling of the 70’s, the best of 90’s rock and those songs on the radio you can’t stop singing and dancing to.
